The Recursive Muffin

I believe that most mental illnesses can be located on a well-populated continuum that trends back to normalcy.  For instance… Some conspiracy theories are, well, clearly correct.  Others are fair comment in everyday politics.  Still others are neurotic collections of facts cherry-picked to answer an obvious underlying anxiety.
And then there there is the realm of full on delusional weirdness, of which Aaron Fleszar’s blog is a sterling example.  But even here, it is quite possible to read through and recognize one’s own mental processes, exaggerated in grotesque ways: ha, Sarah Palin’s hat looks a lot like Fidel Castro’s…wonder if that means anything?
