S & I refer to this as “Jehovah’s Witness light”, because you always see it in the pictures of heaven in their literature. Which suggests heaven is overcast but not rainy.
Also: I can only ever recall seeing this phenemenon in the West, i.e. in the afternoon. Any ideas why?
